Commitment
LexiCon: Philosophical Corner
Hey Guys look! I did a thing! I did a pun! Also, notice how the writing is growing smaller as I progress.
This day's topic, well for me at least is commitment. You can find commitment in various forms, for example my new blog commitment which was recently acquired through boredom as you may or may not recall. I feel like as humans we tend to lose that strong commitment we have through things and stop halfway, especially in relationships.
Typically, relationships and commitment go hand in hand but is what we call commitment really commitment? Or is it becoming a mere job for us? We just don't know at this point. I think commitment has to do with being determined and the ability to bear through and salvage onward, but sometimes love and commitment can be confused for being the same when in truth they're actually almost an unspoken package deal. That is of course, if you're looking for more of a serious relationship. If it's more playtime then commitment isn't quite needed in my point of view.
A lot of things come with commitment: homework, jobs, life, humans, art, passion, success and in some ways, happiness. Probably a lot more too but I just-- my brain. That's not the point but there is a question to this whole topic of the day and that is:
"Where would our lives be without commitment (or at least our idea of commitment)?"
I think that since commitment is labeled as one of the ever-growing Four Fruits our lives would be at a loss, jobs in ruin, relationships in disarray everything would be torn from one little thing one little action, or perhaps I'm wrong maybe it is more than just "a little thing" maybe it's something more. What do you think?
I'm sorry, I'm going to have to close this right about now because I don't know where I was going with this and I want some hummus and guacamole, but in the meanwhile look at this funny photo I probably found on Tumblr:
Parrot, what do you think you're doing?
He's just so happy, I wish I could find that much joy through a watermelon. I strive to be this parrot.
Yours,
